Customers burning CD/DVD's on windows pc with Vista have to options to choose from before created a CD or DVD media disk.
Option 1: Mastered - created a conventional CD/DVD that can be read by pre-XP windows systems.
Option 2: Live File System - Windows Vista capatibility
Microsoft has created a technology called "Live File System" which basically allows files to be added to the CD/DVD at a later time so the media can be fully utilized with multiple burns.
How to set this option while using Windows Vista pc's?
Follow this link for discussions on the subject.
Some fokes like the option, other do not.

Organize Your Photos
YOU CAN ELIMINATE the hassle of hunting for photos on your PC by doing some up-front work with tags, which let you assign multiple search keywords to photos. For instance, you could tag a photo from your Alaska vacation showing both of your kids with each child's name and "Alaska," and it will then turn up in a search for any one of those tags.
To tag a single photo in XP, right-click it in Windows Explorer, select Properties*Summary, and type tag name into the keywords field. When entering more than one tag, separate them with semicolons. You can tag multiple photos at once, but doing so deletes any tags you've previously assigned to them.
In Vista, ignore Windows Explorer and click Start*ALL Programs*Windows Photo Gallery. This program lists all available tags in the left pane. To make a tag, click Create a New Tag, and then just drag the photos to the appropriate tags.
How do you find photos by their tags? In Windows XP, pressto bring up the search panel (if necessary, click the Back button until the panel says 'What do you want to search for?' at the top). Check Pictures and Photos, click Use advanced search options, enter the tag names in the 'A word or phrase' field, and click Search, In Vista's Photo Gallery, simply select one or more tags to see only the qualifying photos.

The SD High Capacity (SDHC™) card is a new SD™ memory card
The SD High Capacity (SDHC™) card is a new SD™ memory card based on the SDA 2.00 specification, introduced by the SD Card Association. This new SDA 2.00 specification enables SD cards to reach higher capacities: 4GB - 32GB*.
Because SDHC cards are recognized by new SDHC host devices differently than standard SD cards, they are not backwards compatible with legacy SD format host devices.
Standard SD cards are forward compatible with new SDHC host devices. Legacy SD host devices and SD cards (up to 2GB) are FAT 16 file system compatible, while the new SDA version 2.00 file system specification defines a SD FAT 32 file system for the new SDHC host devices and cards.
Compatibility with SDHC 4GB: 4GB SDHC cards can only work with SDHC compatible host devices. To ensure compatibility, look for the SDHC logo on the packaging. Please check with your device manufacturer for their current/future supported SDHC devices.

Digital Camera Memory Cards
Often we are asked, "I accidentally reformatted my memory card, are all my pictures lost?" Our first response is, did you take more pictures on the card after you reformatted the card? The good answer is NO. But often we hear YES, but I only took a few more pictures.
Next the customer will ask, "Can you save all my pictures to a CD for me?"
The answer is, we have a 90% recovery rate for saving images from media cards that have been reformatted before the files were safely backed-up or transferred to the computer.
When the digital memory card is first inserted into the digital camera, a special index file is created called the DCIM or ( Digital Camera Image Manager. ) This file acts something like the file card system at your local public library.
If the digital memory card is reformatted before the pictures have been saved or transferred, this file is deleted. If you continue to shoot additional images you create a NEW DCIM file overwriting the old one. But the digital files are still on the memory card.
Most digital camera have a safety question within the on screen menu system. It warns you that all your images will be lost if you reformat. It then asks, are you SURE you want to format?
Always, turn the camera OFF before removing or inserting the digital camera memory card.
Our sales associates tell customers they should "format" their media cards after downloading and saving images, instead of "erase all" and explain why. Does is improve the quality of their photos? Only if the card becomes corrupt and they loose a bunch of images!
We have digital print ordering stations located at each of our retail locations where you can transfer the images from your digital camera memory card safely, order prints, gifts, scrapbook pages, and even back-up to CD or DVD while you wait.
If your card is damaged, corrupted, or has been formatted, PhotoRescue is the best data-recovery solution you can get: PhotoRescue even deals with cases where the media is NOT visible as a drive letter anymore. We get at the pictures other recovery software does not even see. Our unique unfragmenting technology rebuilds cherished memories that would otherwise have been lost forever.

We offer this service at our Chatsworth main photo lab. You may visit any of our retail locations for assistance.
